Hi, I’m Alex and I’m a resilience coach
I’m also a recovering over-achiever and someone who spent many years with low levels of resilience. I gave up at every little knock back, held myself back, missed opportunities and lost out because of the negative narratives I was ruled by – and because I didn’t have much self-awareness, self-compassion or self-belief.
I started out as a City lawyer, moved into publishing and then found my way into the creative industries as a writer. I continue to write today, as well as publishing a podcast.
Resilience provided the foundation and the fuel for starting to live adventurously and wholeheartedly. I got here by developing confidence, courage, clarity of vision and learning how to hear my own intuition. That enabled me to move from being stuck, numbing and dissatisfied to open, enthusiastic, calm and confident.
Obviously, even as a resilience coach, I still have days when I feel the opposite of all those things but now I have reserves of resilience and tools to help me in those times, as well as a different overall perspective. This is the focus and energy that I think resilience life coaching can bring to every life. Helping people to achieve this is why I became a resilience coach.

You’re a resilience coach so why ‘Shore’?
I love the sea. As well as being a resilience coach, I’m a cold water swimming super fan and I love surfing. I’m pretty terrible at the latter. The sea for me is a place of challenge and exhilaration where you’re always going to be on the edge of your comfort zone. The shore is where the inherent natural strength of the land meets the transformative energy of the ocean – that combination of natural strength and transforming energy perfectly represents what being a resilience coach is about for me.
I came out of the sessions feeling as though I had gained huge insight, learnt some fantastic tools, and really changed my thinking..
“My sessions with Alex helped me turn on its head the way I was thinking about ‘change’ and ‘decisions’, and instead to come at the process from a range of new angles. I explored loads of new ideas which have been very constructive and applicable to a range of situations. The sessions felt very practical, I enjoyed the rigour of the research and the process that it took me on. I came out of the sessions feeling as though I had gained huge insight, learnt some fantastic tools, and really changed my thinking on a range of topics which were in some way limiting previously. I highly recommend coaching with Alex.”
