Life changes at 40+…

But that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. From perimenopause to childbirth, kids leaving home to health changes or realising your identity is entirely based on your job, 40+ can feel destabilising – but it’s also a perfect point for positive change.

It’s the moment a lot of us review and reflect on what’s happened so far and look at what we want to come next. No matter how busy and pressured your life is right now there are always possibilities for this. In fact, if your life feels busy and pressured you can relieve some of that by changing the way you’re approaching it right now.

Why do we need a resilience review/reset at 40+?

  • Integrating the impact of perimenopause + menopause – coping with new feelings and symptoms, from apathy, exhaustion and negativity, to loss of sense of self feeling shame around ageing/being child-free/single etc.
  • The fall out from big life realisations and changes – accepting you won’t have children, going through a divorce, redundancy or resignation, children leaving home.
  • Past traumas and old issues resurfacing and repeating – or just realising you’ve had enough of living in the same old patterns, such as being a people pleaser.
  • The existential crisis (“who am I?!” “Why am I here”) that can result from hitting ‘mid life.’

While this can feel like a really vulnerable time it can also be a really empowering moment in life if you’re able to lean into it and build up your physical, mental and emotional resources (your resilience).
