I used to be so socially anxious that I couldn’t speak at all in groups. In fact, it made me so stressed and scared that I would start dissociating.

I got told it was because I was shy.

I thought this was just me.

That this would always be hard.

And yet..

Today I love networking, I give talks and workshops in front of roomfulls of people, I interview intimidatingly intelligent, impressive guests on my podcast, I love meeting new faces and even being interviewed myself and people constantly tell me how calm and confident I seem.

What a lot of people don’t seem to understand is that 

Social anxiety is a habit

Shyness is 80% a learned response

Fear of being seen (and judged) by others is a habitual limiting belief.

And none of these things are permanently wired into us. All of them can be changed.
