Here it is: believe in yourself – even if you don’t.
Huh? 🤔
There are so many ways to build confidence – most of which revolve around creating a deep and unshakeable self-trust. But there comes a point where you’ve just got to leap into the identity of “confident” whether you feel it or not.
It’s not exactly fake it until you make it. It’s more believe it until you believe it.
Why this confidence tip works
If you want to be more confident you’ve got to stop telling yourself that you’re not. And that means tackling the way that you see yourself that keeps reinforcing the idea that confidence isn’t for you.
And replacing it with self-belief. Groundless, unjustifiable, unquestioning self-belief.
Try it on for size like a crazy pink faux fur coat.
It probably doesn’t fit right now. Or makes you feel a bit stupid at first. “I shouldn’t be wearing this pink faux fur coat I’m much to old/unworthy/shy/unlike this.”
But keep putting on that self-belief. Every day. Until you get used to the colour pink. Until it feels natural. Until you barely notice it.
That’s how confidence works. Repetition of confident thoughts (plus self-trust building behaviours). You don’t need to change who you are or get a new personality, you’ve just got to try it on for size. Keep putting in on until it feels like your. Believe it when you don’t – until you do. It’s a confidence tip that works every time.
Try it today
If you want to get going on this confidence tip today then repeat this identity story to yourself 3 times in the morning afternoon and evening “I build self trust every day and am filled with confidence and self-belief as a result.”
Every time you repeat it to yourself, challenge yourself do one thing to prove to yourself that it’s true.
Do it every day this week. See where you are at the end of it. If it works? Book a free intro call and I’ll share some more of my confidence tips with you.
