People-pleasing is often mistaken for kindness. In reality, it is self-abandonment that has been socially rewarded.
And the worst form of people pleasing for women? Good Girl conditioning.
What is good girl conditioning
Women are above all raised to want to be liked. And to keep the peace. And to be agreeable to others. If you’re a woman, and you’re really honest with yourself, you probably fear being disliked, different, seen as difficult or aggressive more than anything else.
What is this people pleasing costing you?
In realise, this type of people pleasing is costing you:
- Confidence. The two are just mutually exclusive.
- Being regarded as any kind of authority, whether by your kids or your colleagues or the internet.
- Connections where people see who you truly are and you’re not hiding some of you.
- Nervous system dysregulation and autoimmune issues because Good Girl conditioning is a source of stress.
- Energy – because maintaining the mask of ‘nice’ is draining (and a contributor to physical fatigue).
Isn’t it time to stop betraying yourself like this First name / friend and give yourself the chance to really live your life?
THE ANSWER IS YES!
But the challenge is that you can’t override conditioning like this with willpower. It has to be unwound at the level it was created, through your thinking, your behaviour, and your nervous system.
That’s what you will find inside Change Your Mindset, my 6-week mindset and nervous system course that starts on Monday. This is a structured reset of how you think, respond, and act – not through forced positivity, scripts for being assertive or confidence affirmations. Instead, we work with how your mind and body respond to life, so your thinking becomes free of conditioning, your reactions more intentional, and your actions bolder. The combination of self-study, video insight + 1:1 coaching hits every touchpoint for effectiveness + learning flexibility.
If you’re functioning well on the outside but tired of shaping yourself to be acceptable, this course will change everything for you.
Doors close on Monday – grab your spot here. Or find out more here.
