Yes.
It has been so corrupted with narratives of toughness that we are missing the point of it.
Bouncing back, being able to adapt, consistency, not giving up – these are the outcomes of resilience.
Doing those things won’t make you resilient.
We don’t talk enough about where the work needs to happen to actually make us resilient – like being more self-compassionate and emotionally aware. Let me show you what I mean.

Resilience is not about being tough
I am fed up of hearing resilience being used like some impossible-to-meet standard of heroic toughness when that is such a sad, inhuman and unachievable goal. Resilience is a beautiful, fluid, relentless, compassionate strength. It develops and nurtures. It’s got nothing to do with a square jaw or being able to suppress your emotions at work.
As a coach I deal in genuine resilience building. Not the surface level psuedo-stoic stuff. I will help you develop the most nurturing, grounding, solid foundation that has everything you need for a resilient mindset and to behave in a resilient way. That actually delivers productivity, efficiency, motivation and achievement – but with ease and peace.
So that you don’t have to keep bouncing back again and again. And you can make big, permanent changes that give you the chance to really thrive.
Take it from me (a resilience coach)..
As a resilience coach, hearing resilience being used in a toxic way Really. Makes. Me. Rage. People who talk about resilience like this usually don’t understand what resilience is (send them to me, I’ll educate them).
Resilience is a beautiful, fluid, relentless, compassionate strength. It develops and nurtures. It’s got nothing to do with a square jaw or being able to suppress your emotions at work.
Anyone can have more of it, no matter how ‘sensitive’ or ‘emotional’ you are – in fact, as an empath and highly sensitive person, I can tell you that the more of these things you have, the better your connection to you can be – and the more resilience you’ll have at your fingertips as a result once you learn to harness these super powers.
If you are ready for real resilience – the kind that can permanently alter how you deal with both the challenges and opportunities in life – I can show you how to create it. And sustain it.
Once you’ve got it, it’s yours, and nothing will ever feel as hard as it does right now again. Book a coaching intro call and I’ll tell you all about how this works.
